Life is about opportunities. Some you take and some you don’t. Sometimes opportunities you don’t take, turn into doors that were meant to stay closed. And sometimes, the ones you do take, open doors you never dreamed could be opened. Saying yes to this business has given us the chance to create what our futures will look like. This blog for example, is the product of time freedom. A dream at one time kept at a distance because of a life dictated by a paycheck.  

From the moment our team began this journey, we have been driven by purpose and a vision. A “why” if you will. That why is constantly changing as each goal is accomplished, taking us closer to the next. Through it all, our overall vision has remained the same. To find the things that anchor us in this life, and use them to drive us. So what are our anchors leading us to do now?

Simply put, to create change by giving back.  

The Anchored by Change Scholarship is a dream come to life. An opportunity to grant financial support to students who, statistically, get left behind. Those who come from poverty stricken homes, at-risk environments, first generation college students…there is no set criteria other than seeking driven, college or technical school bound students who are in need. Team Anchored will embark on a journey to share this incredible company with others, and in the process, we will set aside a percentage of our income for this scholarship. A gift that collectively, we can present to one or more students to use towards their college education. We know that there are many students in need, and as our team continues to grow, so will our scholarship program.

Recently, I spent time with an incredibly beautiful soul. Paola is a former student of mine who embodies everything that gives me hope in humanity and the future. The daughter of farm laborers, her parents’ education did not extend beyond middle school. But in her, they saw a chance to defy the statistics and raise an individual who will change the world with her light. They work tirelessly to instill a strong work ethic while also teaching her to be kind and compassionate.  

She is the blueprint for our scholarship dream.
